Launch sees big demand for first homes as part of Hayle Harbour transformation

The launch of new homes in one of Cornwall’s most eagerly anticipated developments has been met with high demand from people wanting to be one the first to reserve a property in the transformed Hayle Harbour.

More than 30 per cent of released properties were sold at launch (March 21/22) as buyers made the most of the first opportunity to secure their dream home in the first phase of the North Quay scheme.

North Quay will feature beautifully designed homes, new shops and open spaces, all set within a stunning waterside location just yards from the magnificent Hayle Towans Beaches.

Facilities have been put in place to arrange virtual appointments with the project team and make reservations by phone or video call to avoid travel.

Kevin James of agents Bradleys said: “The response has been incredible, especially in the current circumstances, and it’s clear that enthusiasm has not been dampened for this long-awaited and unique opportunity in West Cornwall’s new harbour destination.

“To have more than 30 per cent of released properties sold at launch is an incredible achievement and we’re continuing to deal with a constant stream of calls from people who don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to own a fabulous new home in this fantastic location.”

The development is being built by Corinthian Homes (part of the Corinthian Homes Group). Work started on North Quay in January, although site operations have been temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus situation and will recommence once both Corinthian Homes and its contractors are confident a return to work can be achieved, adhering to all government guidelines.

Once complete, North Quay will become a focal point for further phases of the regeneration and a destination in its own right, for people living and working locally or enjoying a visit to Hayle, its near neighbour St Ives and wider West Cornwall.
North Quay is set amongst the striking scenery of the Hayle Estuary and within the boundaries of the Hayle Conservation Area and The UNESCO World Heritage Site for Cornwall and Devon, offering residents an exceptional location and quality of life.

It will feature approximately 140 properties over 11 buildings, including 17 three bedroom wharf style houses and one, two and three bedroom apartments, many with views over the Hayle estuary and beyond.
Phase 1 also includes the development of North Quay Square, which will host events all year round, and some 20 retail units for offices, shops and restaurants, creating a bustling café culture.

Public access to the beach will be maintained for all to enjoy and there will also be new car parking facilities at North Quay, a variety of attractive and well-connected pedestrian-friendly streets and seating areas incorporated into key locations along the wharf.
